A New Year’s Resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to themselves. It can be a change of a long term habit (smoking or drinking too much alcohol) or an aim to help improve health & well-being (exercising or cutting down on fatty foods); this often means a lifestyle change.

These commitments normally begin on New Year’s Day and remain until they have been abandoned or fulfilled.
